Acne And The Social Impact

Acne is really one of the most trouble some problems we face with our complexion. It is true that most of the people suffering from acne don’t experience any kind of physical discomfort or pain, they make up for it with psychological scarring.

This effect has not really been studied in depth, the reason being is that acne is a common and non threatening condition that comes and it goes on its own, and the psychological effects attached to it have not been seen as particularly important.

However acne has a much stronger than suspected impact on peoples lives today. Studies that have been conducted by researchers show that people suffering from acne also display:

* Feelings of inadequacy

* Refusal to socialize
* Depression

These effects are often triggered by the negative effect that acne has an individual’s looks, and the resulting apprehension of the negative reactions they get from others.

People that suffer from acne sometimes end up living very unsatisfying lives, can fail in school, their jobs and even social interactions.
